Our recommendations focus on places that add something distinct to a journey along the Lycian Coast: a strong landscape, meaningful history, a memorable local atmosphere or a route that makes geographical sense.
For a first stay
Start with Kaş if you want a compact base with swimming, diving, boat trips and access to both eastern and western Lycia. Add Kekova and Simena for the sea, or Xanthos and Letoon and Patara for archaeology.
For a slower coastal journey
Kalkan, Çıralı and Olympos, and Fethiye each have a different character. They work better as deliberate stops than as boxes to tick on a rushed itinerary.
